If the desire is to gain vibrant health & lasting happiness, we ought to look at the whole individual and all of its life.

In a holistic and all-encompassing sense, I work with science based nutrition and intuitional healing. I find that the best approach to help people heal, is often found somewhere at the crossroads of traditional wisdom and modern evaluation, paired with an acute appreciation for each individual's unique set-up of past, present and her or his dreams of the future. With an emphasis on where we are going now, moving forward.

Getting an understanding of what a person needs is sometimes easy and quick, other times it takes a bit more time and exploring. But what is certain, is that when mind and body are in balance, you will thrive. Therefore, establishing a naturally balanced flow is our first goal.

Working together we'd often start at the physical level. Taking a closer look at the little ailments you may experience, for example; the bothersome skin problems, struggle to sleep, migraines, digestive issues, sluggishness, additional weight, joint pain, or brain-fog. All of which may be treated with a cleaner and better targeted food plan, along with a fresh boost of the minerals, vitamins, amino-acids and fatty acids that you may be lacking.

Besides nutritional guidance, meal plans, recipes, grocery shopping lists and all that will help you get in shape or achieve the health goals you have, we will work on defining what true happiness, health and purpose means to you. Together we will be reflecting on how the outside world affects your growth process. We will analyse triggers that make you think, act or feel in ways that aren't productive or healthy. We will explore how your inner world - your emotions, feelings and thoughts - when mastered, can help you awaken to your highest potential.

The way I see it, there are 6 major causes for emotional (and hormonal) imbalance, illness, and disease:

  1. Foods that burden your systems (immune, digestive, endocrine, nervous, lymphatic etc)

  2. Not getting enough quality sleep

  3. Unconscious monkey mind activity

  4. Not following your dharma / your life's purpose / your higher calling

  5. Free radical exposure (chemicals, pesticides, pollution, mold/mould, heavy metals etc)

  6. Inflammation

We cannot avoid all of these at all times. But in order to gain maximum benefit from your healing plan, and life as a whole, it is important to learn how to decrease what's harmful and counterproductive. While thoroughly investigating and enhancing what is nurturing, and what will boost your overall life experience.

My guidance is of most value to people who are serious about real growth. Whether it's a FODMAP diet for IBS or digestive issues that we have decided to put you on, a low-carb weight loss program, an elimination diet to determine the cause of your skin problems, or a dharma/finding your purpose exploration.

To achieve your goals I will provide you with step-by-step manual, with daily guidance and support. But the real key is you. Clear and tangible results will only show if you have:

- An open mind
- A desire to live better
- A willingness to questions yourself
- Faith in your capability and your healing plan
- A commitment to follow through

It may sound easy. And it isn't nearly as hard as you may have thought a life change would be. What we need is clarity, making a commitment, and taking the first step. Then another. And then one more. I'll walk beside you until you're ready to fly on your own.

Hello Taru, Some years ago, when you were sailing around the world, I started following your Instagram-account and blog because I had been living on a boat too and I was interested in anyone and anything that had to do with living aboard. At a certain moment your blog posts became more and more about mindful living and healthy eating which appealed to me too. After a while I wasn't interested in the sailing any more but I was waiting for another inspiring post about conscious living and what you did to achieve your goals. Last year in spring I decided to take a break from work for some months and spend that time on a Greek island, just when you were moving to Paros. I used that time to do some research and read anything I could find with tips to make me feel more healthy. I wasn't exactly ill but I have Graves' disease, an auto-immune disease that affects the thyroid, which gave me some side effects like brain fog and a constant feeling of stress because of my heart rate being up all the time. Because of the medication, I took some weight and I didn't feel comfortable in my skin any more. No major unhappiness but I was looking for some natural ways to feel better. That same summer you got your certification as a nutritional health coach and, inspired by your blog posts, I decided to contact you to try to help me. First we had a free Skype-session for you to get to know me and what I wanted of this collaboration, to know more about my lifestyle and my mindset towards healthy eating and a mindful life in general. I expected it would be all about healthy eating but it was so much more! The first thing we tackled was my eating habits: I ate too much bread, pasta, cheese etc. so you sent me a personalized plan with weekly menu's and a shopping list. I had to omit gluten, dairy, sugar and meat from my diet and the two first weeks all I could think about was food: with everything I bought or ordered I had to think about the ingredients but after two weeks I was used to it. And I felt so much better! It wasn't about the weight I had lost after four weeks (which was nice too) but I felt more clear and I could concentrate a lot better. I was very focused on the food bit so with every Skype session I expected we were going to talk about my improvements concerning cooking and food but every time you came up with some more ways to improve my life and health and once I got my head around the plant-based diet, I could give some more attention to exercising, meditation and making mindful choices in other areas of my life. We talked about every aspect of life: love, friendship, creativity, exercise, food... Although I unconsciously knew what was good for my health and well being in general, I couldn't have done all this without your knowledge, support and compassion. The personalized diet was the easiest bit, the exercising was a bit harder for me, but the most important thing I learned from you is how to take some time for myself and contemplate if I'm going in the right direction for achieving my goals, even if I'm busy at work and I think I really don't have the time. We took a break now and I'm trying to do it on my own but I'll contact you again later this year after your baby is born, to do some fine-tuning.

Last summer we visited an amazing Greek island. Paros Island. Looking for accommodation we were happily surprised to find Taru’s place. But even more excited with her warm welcome and her professionalism. Her relaxed balanced sweet idiosyncrasy was infused in us and we enjoyed relaxing holidays. Every morning we had breakfast prepared by her. She had chosen to lay the beautiful breakfast table on the pleasant gardens under the shade of a tree. Fresh juices, amazing omelettes topped with vegetables and herbs grown on the very same garden, freshly brewed coffee, bread, marmalades and many more.
